John 9

The ninth chapter of John teaches us about a blind man the Lord healed. Many people questioned how he received his sight. To each one, the blind man told the facts. He said, “The man who is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash’; so I went away and washed, and I received sight.”

When we obey Jesus’ commands, people will notice there is something different about us. Perhaps they’ll be curious about our ability to remain patient or calm in the face of adversity. They may ask why we’ve given up popular activities or avoid certain places. We can respond as simply as the blind man did. We may say, “I was spiritually blind and separated from God by sin. Jesus Christ, our Savior, died on the cross to pay for my sins. Through faith in Him, I know I have been forgiven and made part of God’s family. That’s why I’m not the same.”

We don’t have to know the answers to every question in order to talk about Jesus. We only need to tell others what has happened to us personally. Take the time to write out your testimony in a few sentences. Be sure you can relate the story briefly and clearly. Then, look for an opportunity to tell someone about God’s work in your life.
