The Parable of the Fig Tree
(Matthew 24:32-35; Mark 13:28-31)
29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the
trees.30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves
that summer is now near.
The tender buds that appear every spring on the trees
show that summer is near; the appearance of the signs
Jesus has described will warn us the last days are
coming soon.
31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the
kingdom of God is near.32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass
away till all things take place.
The most likely meaning of this verse is that when the
end comes it will come quickly. The events of the end
times will fall within one generation from start to finish.
Most Scholars of the Bible today believe we are that
generation. “The Generation of the Fig Tree.”
