The process used by God to try men&#8217;s hearts is as drastic as that used to refine gold. (1 Peter 1:7).  There can be no superficial ethics where this is a foundation principle.  (Prov 17:5) (Prov 14:31)<\/p>\n<p>The cruel messenger is the messenger of the rebel&#8217;s doom, the avenger, whether human or angelic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;quarrelling begins with a very slight friction, like a trickle through a tiny hole in a bank, so that it is wise to break off before it is aggrevated.<\/p>\n<p>Verse 16 (Prov 17:16) has been taken to suggest that &#8216;the wise&#8217; took a fee for their instruction, but this is not necessary.
