{"id":46,"date":"2009-03-16T16:53:59","date_gmt":"2009-03-16T20:53:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/april2009\/?p=46"},"modified":"2009-03-16T16:53:59","modified_gmt":"2009-03-16T20:53:59","slug":"are-you-fresh-for-everything","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/purposedriven.ca\/wiki\/2009\/03\/16\/are-you-fresh-for-everything\/","title":{"rendered":"ARE YOU FRESH FOR EVERYTHING?"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of<br \/>\n     God.<\/p>\n<p>     &#8212; John 3:3<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sometimes we are fresh for a prayer meeting but not fresh for<br \/>\ncleaning boots!<\/p>\n<p>Being born again of the Spirit is an unmistakable work of God, as<br \/>\nmysterious as the wind, as surprising as God Himself. We do not know<br \/>\nwhere it begins, it is hidden away in the depths of our personal<br \/>\nlife. Being born again from above is a perennial, perpetual and<br \/>\neternal beginning; a freshness all the time in thinking and in<br \/>\ntalking and in living, the continual surprise of the life of God.<br \/>\nStaleness is an indication of something out of joint with God &#8211; &#8220;I<br \/>\nmust do this thing or it will never be done.&#8221; That is the first sign<br \/>\nof staleness. Are we freshly born this minute or are we stale, raking<br \/>\nin our minds for something to do? Freshness does not come from<br \/>\nobedience but from the Holy Spirit; obedience keeps us in the light<br \/>\nas God is in the light.<\/p>\n<p>Guard jealously your relationship to God. Jesus prayed &#8220;that they may<br \/>\nbe one, even as we are one&#8221; &#8211; nothing between. Keep all the life<br \/>\nperennially open to Jesus Christ, don&#8217;t pretend with Him. Are you<br \/>\ndrawing your life from any other source than God Himself? If you are<br \/>\ndepending upon anything but Him, you will never know when He is gone.<\/p>\n<p>Being born of the Spirit means much more than we generally take it to<br \/>\nmean.
