{"id":937,"date":"2024-07-16T12:19:10","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T16:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.purposedriven.ca\/wiki\/eng\/proverbs-27"},"modified":"2024-07-16T12:19:13","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T16:19:13","slug":"proverbs-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/purposedriven.ca\/wiki\/2024\/07\/16\/proverbs-27\/","title":{"rendered":"Proverb 27"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pro 27:1  Do not boast in the day of tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.<br \/>\nPro 27:2  Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; let it be a stranger, and not your own lips.<br \/>\nPro 27:3  A stone is heavy, and sand a burden, but a fool&#8217;s anger is heavier than both.<br \/>\nPro 27:4  Fury is fierce, and anger overflows, but who can stand before jealousy?<br \/>\nPro 27:5  Better is revealed reproof than secret love.<br \/>\nPro 27:6  Faithful are the wounds of a lover, and plentiful are the kisses of one hating.<br \/>\nPro 27:7  One who is full tramples a honeycomb, but to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.<br \/>\nPro 27:8  A man wandering from his place is like a bird that wanders from the nest.<br \/>\nPro 27:9  Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart, and one&#8217;s friend is sweet from the counsel of the soul.<br \/>\nPro 27:10  Do not forsake your friend, nor your father&#8217;s friend, and do not go into your brother&#8217;s house in the day of your calamity, for a near neighbor is better than a brother far away.<br \/>\nPro 27:11  My son, become wise and give joy to my heart, so that I may return a word to him that taunts me.<br \/>\nPro 27:12  A prudent man sees the evil and hides himself; the simple go on and are punished.<br \/>\nPro 27:13  Take the garment of him who is surety for a stranger, and hold him in pledge who is surety for a strange woman.<br \/>\nPro 27:14  He who rises early in the morning and blesses his friend with a loud voice, it is counted as cursing to him.<br \/>\nPro 27:15  Drops that never cease on a rainy day, and a contentious woman are alike;<br \/>\nPro 27:16  he who hides her hides the wind, and the ointment of his right hand cries out.<br \/>\nPro 27:17  Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens his friend&#8217;s face.<br \/>\nPro 27:18  The keeper of the fig tree eats its fruit, so he keeping his master is honored.<br \/>\nPro 27:19  As face reflects face in the water, so the heart of man reflects a man.<br \/>\nPro 27:20  Sheol and destruction are never satisfied, so the eyes of man are never satisfied.<br \/>\nPro 27:21  The refining pot tries silver, and the furnace tries gold, but a man is tried by the mouth of his praise.<br \/>\nPro 27:22  If you pound a fool in the mortar with a pestle amidst grain, his foolishness will not turn away from him.<br \/>\nPro 27:23  Know well the face of your flock; set your heart on your herds,<br \/>\nPro 27:24  for wealth is not forever, nor the crown from generation to generation.<br \/>\nPro 27:25  When the grass is revealed, and the new grass is seen, and the mountain plants are taken up,<br \/>\nPro 27:26  the lambs will be for your clothing, and the he goats the price for a field,<br \/>\nPro 27:27  and there will be goat&#8217;s milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the life of your maidens. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pro 27:1 Do not boast in the day of tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.
