State of Forgiveness

Question:

If you do something bad to me, and refuse to acknowledge your wrong-doing or to apologize, but I forgive you anyways.. are you forgiven despite your refusal to accept the forgiveness? Who creates the state of forgiveness, the trespasser or the Forgiver?

My Answer:

Forgiveness is the cancelling of the debt that was incurred when you injured me. Forgiveness does not lie with the trespasser, in some cases the person doesn’t even know their fault. I agree that we forgive because we are forgiven. Amen!
