Luke Chapter 21:5
5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with
beautiful stones and donations, He said,
This Temple was something to behold indeed! It
took from 20 B.C. until 64 A.D. just to build it.
This was still being built when Jesus visited it
around 30 A.D.
The [Donations] were gifts offered for the decorations
of the temple and included Gold and Silver plated gates,
grapevine clusters, and Babylon linen tapestries which
hung from the temple veil Even Tacitus, the Roman
historian, called it an “immensely opulent temple.”
