Life Mission Statement

A message from:

Joel 2:25 “I will restore the years that the swarming locust has eaten”

Everyone has a life principle, something that drives them to succeed. It may be work, pleasure, safety, popularity, power, and some other driving force that determines what your life will be. For the believer that life principle is and should be LOVE! Christ-like servants are motivated and driven by love. Love for God and love for others both in and out of the Body of Christ. Christ-like servants understand the Bible paradoxes that govern our life principle.

If I want to save my life, I must lose my life (Luke 9:24,26)
If I want to be lifted up, I must humble myself (James 4:7)
If I want to be the greatest, I must be a servant (Matthew 20:20-22)
If I want to be first, I must be last (Matthew 19:30)
If I want to rule, I must serve (Luke 22:26,27)
If I want to live, I must die (Romans 8:23)
If I want to be strong, I must be weak (2 Corinthians 11:30)
If I want to inherit the kingdom, I must be poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3)
If I want to reproduce, I must die (John 12:24)
Every believer needs to write out a life mission statement, sign it, tape it in your Bible, memorize it and live by it. My personal life statement is:

“My life is committed to helping others find God (Galatians 4:19)
“My little children, for whom I labour in birth until Christ is formed in you.”
I want always to be where God and men need me the most, and to glorify God in all things.”
-John Sparks

Here are some suggestions:

Whatever I do, I want to honor God.
Whatever I do, I want to do it with all my heart.
Whatever I do, I want to I want to do it for others.
Whatever I do, I want to I want to honor and add value to others.
Whatever I do, I want to always be where God and men (people) need me the most.
Scriptures:

1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
Colossians 3:17 “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father by Him.”
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, do it heartily (with a clear conscience) as to the Lord and not to men.”
Pray the prayer of Jabez every day: (1 Chronicles 4:10)

“And Jabez called upon the God of Israel saying, ‘Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory (ministry), that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I might not cause pain!’ So God granted him what he request.”
